Philosophy

Our developmental, play-based, preschool program serves children ages six weeks through five years. As a parent, you want your child to grow up healthy, do well in school and to succeed in life. Attendance at a quality child care and preschool program can be significant in helping to achieve these goals. Our teachers encourage the kids to play, in a hands-on way building experiences as well as facilitating social skills along the way. We encourage early learning that is fun, culturally diverse and inspirational.

Our program is built around the concept that children are born ready to learn. As caregivers, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, stimulating, and encouraging.

* Children develop knowledge of their world through active interactions with caregivers, peers, materials, and events.

* Learning is sequential, building on prior understandings and experiences.

*Learning proceeds at different rates in each area and each child; children will show a range of skills and understandings in any one area of development.

CBCC’s professional staff works hard to create a safe and caring environment where the emphasis is on learning through play. As Fred Rogers, a.k.a., “Mr. Rogers” said,

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”
